Catalina Show:
On June 5, John
Cosby was one of twelve artists that participated in a very exclusive
show & sale of paintings on Catalina Island held at the Country Club. The
show was put on by the Society for the Advancement of Plein Air Painting
(SAPAP). The event featured paintings showing images of Avalon and around the
island. It was announced that this show was the final show for SAPAP.

For all of those who love Catalina Island paintings, it
has been announced that the Catalina Island Conservancy is going to sponsor a
similar show to what SAPAP has done for all these years but newly invigorated with
the assets of the conservancy.
John Cosby has been invited as one of the six permanent artists that
will be the core of the show each year.
Avalon Grille Restaurant on Catalina
Island:
One of John Cosby’s largest paintings of Catalina Island has been borrowed
from the Wrigley’s private collection and installed as the main focal point in
the new trendy waterfront restaurant on Crescent Street across from the pier.

Catalina Island Museum:
John Cosby was one of several
nationally known artists included in the Catalina Island Museum's 10th Annual
Catalina Island Plein Air Painting exhibition sponsored by the Society for the
Advancement of Plein Air Painting showcasing the beauty of Catalina
Island. All the paintings were borrowed from private collections.
One of John Cosby's paintings is in the display case in the center of the room.
Sierra Foothill Conservancy:
On August 7, John Cosby will be exhibiting his artwork at the Sierra
Foothill Conservancy Show “En Plein Sight” in San Francisco. Proceeds from show will go toward land conservation in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. For more

Paso Robles Festival of the Arts
On Memorial Day, John Cosby participated in the Paso Robles Festival of the
Arts that celebrates the creative spirits and the environment. The festival
benefits the Salinas River Corridor Project which protects wildlife and open
space.
Up-Coming Group Show
Opening August 14 in Orleans, Massachusetts at the Tree’s Place Gallery, John
Cosby will be showcasing paintings of American life in urban and interior
